One of the highlights of staying here is cooking Japanese dishes together with the owner, using locally caught fish and seasonal vegetables.
During dinner, enjoy seasonal foods characteristic of the islands, have a conversation (in Japanese) with the friendly owner, and try some locally-made Japanese sake, all while sitting around a Japanese-style fireplace called irori. At times, neighbours drop by for a visit, and you can hear many local stories over the shared dinner.
The guest house is located in a two-story detached house. A river flows in front of it, and is a popular spot for ducks and herons. If you are lucky, you will be able to see fireflies near the river in early summer.
If you let the staff know in advance, the dinner can be grilled outdoors. If the weather is good, sit outside and enjoy your breakfast in the backyard!
