Following last year's "Island Fair in the Oki Islands", this spring the "Spring Nature Expo" will be held.

The theme this time is spring nature. From March 1 (Wednesday) to April 23 (Sunday), we have prepared various activities where you can fully experience the vitality of nature such as the fresh greenery that wakes up in the spring and the lively animals such as cows and horses.

From here, we will introduce a list of the activities held in Okinoshima Town and Ama Town, which will be available during the Spring Nature Expo.

It is a special kayaking course available only during spring. Kayak while watching the cherry blossoms lined up along the river! You can forget the time, relax and enjoy a moment of immersion in nature. Rest assured even if you are a kayak beginner, a veteran guide will accompany you on the adventure.

Spend your own special time at a secluded coast on an uninhabited island!

First, kayak to an uninhabited island where a private rocky beach awaits. Observe the interesting coastline formed by the waves and winds, and enjoy the view of the transparent water. After landing, make a bonfire using the collected driftwood and enjoy a seafood BBQ with iwagaki rock oysters. Rest assured even if you are a kayak beginner, a veteran guide will accompany you and lead you on the adventure.

Enjoy a seafood barbecue while listening to the sound of the waves on Shionohama Beach! The seafood menu includes rock oysters, which are in their best season in spring. Feel tranquility while gazing at the view of the sandy beach, white coastline, deep blue sky and sea and the surrounding green mountains. You can enjoy a bonfire with a BBQ, or if you rent one, you can stay overnight in a tent.

Find your own fishing point!
Depart from the sandy beach and aim for a rocky coastline several hundred meters away. The charm of kayak fishing is that you can freely search for fishing spots when you can't seem to catch any fish easily! Even if you are a kayak beginner, a veteran guide will accompany you to assist and lead you during the activity. The experience takes about 2 hours, and after kayaking, you can enjoy a bonfire and a seafood BBQ with rock oysters.

The uninhabited island you will visit during this tour has not been touched by humans, and the native vegetation of the Oki Islands is well-preserved there. On the other hand, on inhabited islands where people live, buildings and fields are being developed in many places. By taking a bird's-eye view of these two environments and vegetation, take some time to think about the impact of human life on the environment and coexistence with nature.
