Following last year's "Island Fair in the Oki Islands", this spring the "Spring Nature Expo" will be held.

The theme this time is spring nature. From March 1 (Wednesday) to April 23 (Sunday), we have prepared various activities where you can fully experience the vitality of nature such as the fresh greenery that wakes up in the spring and the lively animals such as cows and horses.

From here, we will introduce a list of the activities held in Nishinoshima Town and Chibu Village, which will be available during the Spring Nature Expo.

The most beautiful sunset in my life!
The sunset cruise, which usually operates in autumn, will be available for one day only this spring! At the end of the day, gazing at the setting sun can help you forget your worries and refresh yourself. Enjoy the relaxing time until the sun sets over the Sea of Japan and the breathtaking views on tall cliffs of the Oki Islands UNESCO Global Geopark.

Participate in the environmental activities carried out by local residents!
This is an event to clean up the coast by collecting marine garbage while interacting with local people. After the clean up, the participants will ride a sightseeing boat on a route that is not normally operated! You can discover the various faces of the sea environment during this local event.
Participation by families and parents with children is very welcome.

You can experience processing natural wakame seaweed, which is a special sea product of spring, and then try eating some!

Seaweed has been present in Japanese cuisine since ancient times, and we can normally experience that product of the sea in various dishes, cooked and raw.Compared to dried wakame, fresh spring wakame is full of nutrients and has a unique texture that is irresistible.
Why don't you try some fresh, raw seaweed that can only be eaten at this time of year?

Enjoy the refreshing spring breeze on an e-bike!

Accompanied by a guide who knows all about the geopark sites on Chiburijima Island, you will visit the most scenic spots in the Oki Islands such as Mt. Akahage and Sekiheki (Red Cliff). Take in the warm spring breeze and immerse yourself in the beautiful scenery of fresh greenery sprouting little by little and cows standing calmly.

"Sekiheki" is a precipitous cliff that stretches for about 1km on the west coast of Chiburijima Island. It is also designated as a national scenic spot and a natural monument. You can enjoy its different appearances depending on the time of day, and the scenery illuminated by the orange sunset is especially impressive. There is an observatory from where you can see the cliff from the side, but the view from the sightseeing boat is also worth seeing.
