Hiking Tours

One might imagine islands to o er views of coastal landscapes, but 500–600 m
tall mountains and deep forests are popular hiking destinations in Okinoshima
Town. ere are four hiking routes with di erent levels of di culty: Mt.
Daimanji, Washigamine Ridge, Tokage-iwa (Lizard Rock), and Shirashima
Coast. e tours’ highlights include climbing the highest peak of the island
from where a breathtaking scenery can be seen, walking through a natural forest
of Japanese cedars and discovering the local beliefs and culture that are rooted in
nature. Shirashima Coast trail o ers panoramic views on the coastline; it is the
easiest trail recommended for beginners. Full-day tailor-made tours that include
hiking and other sightseeing spots are available upon inquiry.
