Watatsu Beach is located on Shimazushima Island, a small islet connected to Chiburijima Island by a bridge. It is a popular swimming location with lots to see. Stop and view the 5.5 million years-old trace fossils of marine creatures in the rocks along the shore. At the end of the shoreline lies Watatsu Shrine, which enshrines the deity Isotakeru-no-mikoto, who according to legend brought many plants from the Korean Peninsula to Japan. It is also a popular camping spot. *Facilities: Running water, Toilets, Shower, Changing Rooms. (Summer season only)
