Come and learn about Nishinoshima Island's nature and lifestyle.
This small museum is packed with valuable showpieces, showing local history, culture and lifestyle. The "Kimura Collection" of taxidermy birds gathered on the islands by the late Yasunobu Kimura is a highly esteemed collection of valuable creatures. In the Hatao Yamamoto exhibit, you can see Yamamoto's last writings, which will evoke from the bottom of your heart the Japanese virtues of morality, sincerity, and devotion that modern Japanese are losing touch with.
Major Showpieces include: small Shāra-bune Spirit Boat, airplane kite, fishing tools, large abalone shell, "Kimura Collection", and Hatao Yamamoto exhibit.
