Onimai Lookout

    • Nature & Scenery
    • Nishinoshima Town
Come and admire the beauty of the Dōzen inner sea and the Sea of Japan.
The scenic skyline drive leading to Onimai Lookout is enjoyable for drivers, cyclists and hikers. Cows and horses are kept in areas along the route, so please keep an eye out for them. Near the lookout, there are remains of stone walls that were used for makihata farming, a technique unique to the islands. Although makihata is no longer practiced on Nishinoshima Island, the stone walls are preserved as a witness to the island life.
