"Hop on Ferry Oki for a 2.5 hours cruise. It’s the perfect time to relax or to finish organising your upcoming trip. On clear days, go on the deck and enjoy the view while leaving Shichirui Port and set sail to the islands.

Have lunch before heading out on your adventure. Seafood lovers will be happy to have extra fresh and locally-caught fish and shellfish. If you are more of a meat eater, Oki beef is definitely a must have! Raised here in Oki Islands, this high quality beef is well known all over Japan for its exquisite taste.

Dangyō-no-taki is one of the “100 Best Waterfalls in Japan”. Just a short walk from the car park, you will find yourself surrounded by the luxuriant nature. Take a deep breath, forget all your worries and connect with your surroundings. Close your eyes and let the sound of the water and the singing of birds transport you to a peaceful state of mind.

Nagu-saki Cape
Take in the scenery of the sea and the Dōzen Islands (Nishinoshima Island, Nakanoshima Island and Chiburijima Island) in the distance, and immerse yourself in the sound of the waves. Cows are kept in this area and you can sometimes find them enjoying the scenery here. Practice social distancing with them, too!

Grab your camera and head to Yui Maenosu Intertidal Shore Platform. The sun reflecting on the shallow waters will give you the perfect image and incredible light to your shooting. Rōsoku-jima Sightseeing Boat
This is the most well-known sightseeing boat in Okinoshima Town. Enjoy the ride during sunset to discover why the locals call the sea stack “Candle Island”.
*Departure time varies over the course of the year to match the sunset. When you make your reservation, please check your confirmation notice.
In early July, the departure time is around 6:00 PM while in late August, it is around 5:30 PM.

According to legend, a goddess "Hinamaji Hime Mikoto" gave birth here, giving the coast its name. The instagrammable Heart Rock is also here, making the coast a spot highly appreciated by lovers to propose to their partner.

If you love shellfish, our recommendation is turban shell on rice (sazae don in Japanese). Sazae (turban shell) is common in the area and it is loved by both visitors and locals! Local restaurants create a lot of recipes with it!
Summer is the perfect season to eat sazae, when they are caught and delivered fresh!
After your lunch, have a walk along the harbour! Enjoy the view or try to spot different marine species such as the blue bat star (a species of starfish), sea urchin, fugu and octopus.

Hop on the bus and go to Uragō Port for your sightseeing boat.
The bus stop is located just outside the building where the office of Nishinoshima Tourism Association.
The number of buses running per day is limited, so make sure to check the timetable beforehand. For more information about the bus in Nishinoshima Town check the “Getting Around Oki Islands” section.

From the highest point of Chiburijima Island, you will have a panorama view of the islands. Thanks to this panoramic view, you can embrace the Dōzen Caldera, where everything started millions of years ago.

The Red Cliff, about 1 km in length and 80m high, will show you the magnificence of the Earth. Head closer to the edge to see the cross-section of a former volcano but be careful and keep a safe distance; the wind can be strong there!

Ride one last time on the inter-island ferry Isokaze. You will head back to Hishiura Port in Ama Town to take the ferry back to Honshu.

Discover the wonders of the sea from this boat. Tickets are available at Ama Town Tourism Association, which is located inside the ferry terminal building. An English brochure that explains the sights and sea life you might meet during the tour is available there, too, so remember to pick it up!
